oversized knit cardigan
this oversized knit cardigan is produced at a knit factory in yamagata, japan.
crafted from 100% cotton, the knit fabric offers a soft texture and a natural feel.
this piece is naturally dyed by kitta in okinawa using ryukyu ai (okinawan indigo / strobilanthes cusia) and the bark of fukugi (fortune tree / garcinia subelliptica). the dyes are entirely hand-produced from self-grown indigo and various local plants such as leaves, branches, bark, fruits, and roots. each step, including wood-fire boiling and fermentation, is carried out by hand.
due to the influence of the natural environment, no two colors are exactly alike, resulting in subtle variations and a rich, expressive finish. natural dyes seem to carry a life of their own. we invite you to experience the unique character of each color, and the presence of nature itself—not only visually, but also through its scent and feel when worn.

オーバーサイズ ニットカーディガン
山形のニット工場で生産された、オーバーサイズのニットカーディガン。
素材にはコットン100％のニットを使用。やわらかな質感とナチュラルな風合いが特徴です。
本製品は、沖縄のkittaによる天然染め。琉球藍と福木の樹皮を用いて染色されています。染料は、自家栽培された琉球藍をはじめ、沖縄のさまざまな植物の葉や枝、樹皮、果実、根などから採取し、すべて手作業で作られています。薪火で煮出し、発酵させる工程を経て、一点一点丁寧に染め上げられています。
自然環境に大きく左右されるため、同じ色は二つとなく、それぞれに微妙な色の違いが生まれます。天然染料は、まるで命を宿しているかのようです。それぞれの色がもつ唯一無二の表情、そして自然の気配を、Kittaで染められた衣服を身にまとうことで、目で見て、香りを感じ、肌で感じてみてください。
